Denver, Colorado – Much of Colorado’s Front Range is stuck under chilly, drizzly skies Tuesday, with high temperatures hovering in the low to mid-50s from Boulder to Limon—more than 15 degrees below normal for early June.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, drizzle and cloudy conditions will persist through the day, with a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms, especially north and east of a Greeley-to-Limon line. Some storms could bring hail, damaging winds, and locally heavy rainfall, raising the risk of minor flooding.
The coldest air is parked over the plains, with Sterling, Limon, and Fort Morgan unlikely to break 55°F. In Denver, cloudy skies and a high of just 56°F will keep things damp and raw. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 40s again, with wind chills feeling even colder due to gusty northerly breezes.
Residents should avoid flood-prone low spots and slow down on slick roads. Be prepared for reduced visibility and possible power outages during strong thunderstorms.
Temperatures will rebound slightly Wednesday, reaching into the low 70s in the metro area, but more rain is likely by afternoon.
⚠️ Rain chances and cooler-than-average temps continue through Thursday. More updates expected by Wednesday morning.
