Denver, Colorado – Drivers across northern Colorado may face treacherous conditions Tuesday morning as dense fog blankets the I-25 corridor, slashing visibility to less than a quarter mile in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. MDT Tuesday for the I-25 corridor and adjacent plains. Communities from Fort Collins to Denver—including Longmont, Loveland, Greeley, and Brighton—are under the advisory.

The fog is making travel hazardous, particularly during the early morning commute. Officials warn drivers to slow down, use low beam headlights, and allow extra travel time. Reduced visibility is expected on major routes including I-25, I-76, and U.S. 85.

Denver International Airport (DIA) and nearby cities such as Aurora and Arvada may also experience significant delays, especially on surface roads. This is the first widespread fog event of the month in the region, and comes after a stretch of clear weather across the Front Range.

Fog is expected to lift by mid-morning as temperatures rise. Until then, motorists are urged to use caution and stay alert for changing conditions. Updates from the NWS will follow if conditions worsen or linger past the 9 a.m. advisory window.
