Huntsville, AL – Drivers in Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley should prepare for delays as dense fog settles over the region. Motorists on I-565 and surrounding roads are urged to drive cautiously today, with visibility reduced to under a quarter of a mile in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, patchy fog developed early Tuesday morning, significantly reducing visibility across the Tennessee Valley. The advisory stresses the importance of reducing speed, using low-beam headlights, and allowing extra time for your commute. With conditions expected to improve by mid-morning, drivers should still proceed with caution on bridges and elevated roadways, where the fog tends to linger.

A slight chance of showers may develop later today, but sunny skies are expected to return Wednesday. The rest of the week will see mostly clear conditions with highs in the mid-80s. As temperatures rise, the National Weather Service advises staying alert to changing weather conditions, especially during early morning commutes.

Motorists should also watch for updated advisories throughout the week as fog could continue to impact the region.
