Austin, TX – A dense fog advisory has been issued for parts of south-central Texas, warning of reduced visibility through Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service (NWS) announced that the advisory will remain in effect from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday. Affected areas include San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding communities such as Kerrville, Fredericksburg, and New Braunfels.

According to the NWS, visibility may drop to a quarter mile or less in some areas, creating hazardous driving conditions. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low beam headlights, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.

The dense fog may significantly impact nighttime and early morning travel. Officials recommend postponing non-essential travel, especially on rural or poorly lit roads. Motorists should exercise extra caution on highways, bridges, and overpasses where visibility could worsen.

The advisory highlights the importance of preparedness, particularly during periods of low visibility. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and adjust travel plans as necessary.

This fog event serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance while driving during adverse weather conditions.
