Macon, GA – The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for portions of central, east central, southeast, and west central Georgia, including areas such as Columbus, Macon, Warner Robins, and Vidalia.
The advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday, with visibility expected to drop below one mile in many areas. Hazardous driving conditions are anticipated, as the fog will significantly reduce visibility, especially along rural roads and low-lying areas.
According to the advisory, drivers should reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and maintain a safe following distance. Motorists are urged to exercise caution during their morning commute.
This advisory affects a broad region, including Upson, Muscogee, Bibb, Laurens, Emanuel, and Telfair counties. Travelers are encouraged to plan extra travel time and remain vigilant while navigating through dense fog.
The fog is expected to lift by mid-morning as temperatures rise.
