Montgomery, AL – A dense fog advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) for central Alabama, affecting areas including Montgomery, Selma, Auburn, and Phenix City. The advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. CST on Wednesday.
According to the NWS, visibility in affected areas may drop to one-quarter mile or less, creating hazardous driving conditions. Counties under the advisory include Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Russell, and Sumter.
Residents are advised to drive cautiously, use headlights, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles. Morning commuters should plan for potential delays and stay updated on local weather conditions.
