Jacksonville, FL – Drivers in portions of southeast Georgia, central Georgia, southeast South Carolina, and south-central Georgia are advised to exercise caution this morning as dense fog blankets the region, reducing visibility to a quarter mile or less in many areas.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. EST for southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina. Visibility in some regions, including counties such as Coffee, Wayne, and Chatham, has been significantly reduced, making driving hazardous. The advisory extends to 10 a.m. EST in parts of central Georgia, including Bibb, Houston, and Peach counties.

Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The foggy conditions could impact morning commutes and travel plans.

The NWS emphasizes preparedness, suggesting motorists allow extra time to reach their destinations. For updates and further details, visit www.weather.gov/jax.
