Raleigh, NC – Dense fog is expected to cover parts of central North Carolina early Sunday morning, reducing visibility and potentially impacting travel near major routes like I-40 and NC-147. The fog is forecast to clear by 10 a.m., with the day turning partly sunny and reaching a high of 80°F.
According to the National Weather Service, the dense fog will make driving conditions hazardous, particularly near Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and other low-lying areas. Motorists are urged to use caution, reduce speeds, and allow extra time for travel until the fog lifts mid-morning.
Once the fog dissipates, Sunday will offer pleasant weather with light winds and sunny conditions. Overnight, skies will remain mostly clear, with temperatures dipping to around 61°F. Monday’s forecast brings more sunshine, with a high near 84°F and light variable winds.
Looking ahead, clear and calm weather will dominate the first half of the week, making it ideal for outdoor activities. Tuesday and Wednesday will see sunny skies with highs in the low 70s, and nighttime temperatures will cool into the 50s.
