Pueblo, CO – Dense fog continues to impact the eastern Colorado plains Friday morning, significantly reducing visibility to less than a quarter mile in some areas. Drivers on highways, including U.S. 50, are advised to exercise extreme caution due to hazardous travel conditions caused by freezing fog.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, the advisory will remain in effect until 8 a.m. Friday. Low visibility is expected to persist during the morning commute, particularly across Kiowa, Bent, and Prowers counties. Motorists should allow extra travel time, use headlights, and avoid sudden stops on slippery roads.

As the fog lifts later in the day, Pueblo and surrounding areas can expect partly sunny skies and a high of 53 degrees. Overnight lows will dip to 27 degrees, with clearing skies setting the stage for a sunny weekend.

Saturday’s forecast calls for a high near 57 degrees, with calm westward winds improving conditions for post-holiday travelers. Warmer temperatures are expected to peak Sunday with highs near 63 degrees. The extended outlook suggests mostly sunny skies through New Year’s Day, offering ideal conditions for outdoor activities or travel plans.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated on road conditions via the Colorado Department of Transportation and continue monitoring weather updates for potential changes.
