Wilmington, DE – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for portions of Delaware, Maryland, and southern New Jersey from 9 PM Wednesday to 9 AM Thursday, with snow, sleet, and ice expected to create hazardous road conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ, areas including Wilmington, Dover, Millville, and Easton could see up to one inch of snow and sleet, along with ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch. The mix of precipitation may make Thursday morning’s commute dangerous.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, especially on untreated roads. The heaviest precipitation is expected overnight into early Thursday, with temperatures hovering around freezing.

Travel impacts are likely across New Castle and Kent counties in Delaware, Kent and Queen Anne’s counties in Maryland, and Salem and Cumberland counties in New Jersey. Road conditions will gradually improve as temperatures rise later in the day.

For real-time road updates, drivers can dial 511 in their respective states.
