Philadelphia, PA – Dry skies and comfortable temperatures will give way to rain overnight across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and eastern Maryland, setting up a soggy midweek stretch for millions.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, Tuesday will start sunny with highs in the low to mid-70s, but cloud cover will thicken through the afternoon. Rain is expected to arrive late tonight and continue into Thursday morning, with rainfall amounts ranging from half an inch to nearly an inch in some areas.
Philadelphia and Trenton can expect evening showers, while areas like Allentown and Reading stay dry until closer to midnight. Coastal towns such as Atlantic City and Cape May will remain cooler, holding in the 60s. The Poconos will also stay on the brisker side of the spectrum.
The stretch of rain could make Wednesday morning’s commute challenging, especially along I-95, Route 1, and portions of the NJ Turnpike. Residents are encouraged to avoid flooded low-lying areas and keep gutters and drains clear.
Showers may taper by Thursday morning, but unsettled weather could linger. More advisories may be issued as the week progresses.
