Flagstaff, AZ – Arizona residents are being advised to prepare for severe weather conditions expected on Tuesday. The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has forecast thunderstorms, potentially bringing damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail up to 1 inch in diameter.
According to the National Weather Service, the thunderstorms are expected to develop over higher terrain around noon and move southwest into more unstable areas over Yavapai and Gila counties. Areas south of the Mogollon Rim into southern Yavapai County are particularly at risk.
These storms, forecasted for Tuesday afternoon and evening, could become severe as they move into the region. Residents are advised to secure loose objects and be cautious of hazardous driving conditions.
The upcoming week’s forecast shows a cooling trend after the storm. Today’s high in Flagstaff is expected to reach 85°F, with mostly clear skies. Wednesday will see a high of 81°F with cloudy skies, followed by a similar pattern through Sunday with temperatures ranging from 80°F to 82°F and partly cloudy skies.
