Dallas, TX – Millions of Texans from Dallas to Waco could see strong storms roll in late Wednesday, bringing threats of isolated hail, gusty winds, and localized flooding that will continue into Thursday. The multi-day event poses a risk of hazardous travel conditions and minor property damage across a wide swath of the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, an upper-level low is creating conditions for multiple rounds of showers and storms. While the overall severe weather threat remains low, officials warn that some individual storms could become strong, particularly during the overnight hours.
The initial activity Wednesday night is expected to impact areas primarily along and west of the Interstate 35 corridor, including the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex as well as the cities of Graham and Cisco. As the system progresses, the focus for heavy rain and strong storms will shift slightly east on Thursday, encompassing communities like Waco, Palestine, and Canton.
Residents should prepare for the possibility of slow-moving storms, which increases the risk of localized flooding in urban and low-lying areas. It is advisable to secure loose outdoor items and ensure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.
This storm system is expected to affect the region through Thursday evening. Additional advisories may be issued as the situation develops.
