Fort Worth, Texas – After a sunny and warm Monday across North Texas, residents should prepare for a return of thunderstorms by Tuesday afternoon and evening as a strong weather system moves into the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, highs today will range from the upper 70s to mid-80s under clear skies and light southerly winds. A warm front combined with a dryline setting up to the west will increase chances for isolated storms late Tuesday, some of which could be strong to severe.

Cities including Graham, Cisco, and the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area could experience late-day storms Tuesday, especially along the I-35 corridor. Clouds are expected to build in Monday night, with morning lows dipping into the 50s and low 60s. Travelers should stay alert for sudden downpours, gusty winds, and lightning during the Tuesday evening commute.

Later in the week, additional rounds of rain and storms are expected through Sunday, with the highest rainfall chances on Thursday and Friday. Flood-prone areas should prepare for the potential of locally heavy rain. NWS officials advise North Texans to charge devices, review emergency plans, and limit non-essential travel during periods of severe weather.

The threat for strong to severe storms will persist mid to late week. Residents are urged to monitor local alerts and be ready for potential warnings as new storms develop daily through Sunday.
