Dallas, TX – North Texas is preparing for a round of storms beginning Sunday evening and strengthening into Monday night. Scattered showers will develop across areas north of Interstate 20 on Sunday, with embedded thunderstorms likely.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, severe weather is possible Monday night into Tuesday morning, particularly along and east of the I-35 corridor. The strongest storms could bring frequent lightning, large hail, and damaging winds. A tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

Storm activity will intensify late Monday night, moving from west to east. Areas near Gainesville, DFW, and Waco could see the highest storm coverage. Gusty winds will persist even after storms exit, increasing fire danger west of I-35.

Residents should prepare for potential power outages and disruptions to outdoor plans. Stay updated with local forecasts and have a severe weather plan in place. The NWS urges residents to monitor updates as details regarding timing and severity remain uncertain.
