Dallas-Fort Worth, TX – The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has issued an Ozone Action Day for the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Friday, October 11, 2024. Conditions are expected to contribute to increased ozone pollution in the region.

According to the North Central Texas Council of Governments, residents are encouraged to minimize ozone formation by carpooling, biking, or walking. Additional recommendations include avoiding drive-through services and conserving energy at home and work. Keeping vehicles properly maintained is also advised.

If the air quality situation worsens, another Ozone Action Day could be issued by Friday afternoon. Those with respiratory conditions, young children, and the elderly are particularly vulnerable to poor air quality and should limit outdoor activities. For more information, visit the TCEQ or Air North Texas websites.

As ozone pollution remains a recurring issue in the area, residents are advised to stay alert to any changes in air quality and take necessary precautions to protect their health.
