Addison Township, MI — A 21-year-old woman from the Village of Romeo is in critical condition following a motorcycle crash on Rochester Road near Betts Road. The accident occurred around 4:20 p.m. when Faith Ann Womble was traveling northbound on her 2024 Honda CMX500 motorcycle.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, a 2019 Dodge Journey, driven by a 34-year-old resident of the Village of Leonard, was heading southbound on Rochester Road at the same time. As Womble approached a curve, she failed to negotiate it, crossing over the double-yellow line and striking the Dodge Journey.

Womble sustained critical injuries in the collision. She was initially transported by the Addison Township Fire Department to Ascension Providence Hospital – Rochester and later airlifted to Ascension St John Hospital for further treatment. She remains in critical condition. The driver of the Dodge Journey suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Corewell Health Hospital – Troy.

Both Womble and the driver of the Dodge Journey were wearing helmets and seatbelts, respectively. Authorities stated that neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting local deputies in determining the exact cause of the accident.
