Corpus Christi, Texas – Scattered thunderstorms could disrupt midweek plans across South Texas as hot and humid conditions persist, with highs pushing toward 100° through Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, there’s a 40–65% chance of showers and storms on Wednesday, especially inland, where daytime highs will soar between 85–95°. The coast will stay slightly cooler, with temperatures hovering in the mid-80s. Rain chances taper off later in the week, dropping to just 10–40% through Sunday.
Western counties such as Jim Wells, Duval, and Webb could see the most intense heat, with highs nearing 100° Thursday through Sunday. Coastal cities like Rockport and Port Aransas will remain in the upper 80s but won’t escape the sticky humidity. Localized flooding is possible in areas that receive multiple rounds of storms on Wednesday.
Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, stay hydrated, and keep vehicles and pets cool. With heat indices potentially exceeding 105°, Corpus Christi emergency officials remind the public to check on elderly neighbors and avoid leaving children or pets in parked cars.
More heat and low storm chances are expected into early next week. Stay tuned to the NWS for any updated advisories.
