According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, a Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late Tuesday night through Thursday evening for the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Wet Mountains, Upper Rio Grande Valley, and Eastern San Juan Mountains.

Forecasters predict snow accumulations between 6 and 10 inches, with localized heavier totals on east-facing slopes of the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo ranges. The affected areas include Wolf Creek Pass, La Veta Pass, Spanish Peaks, and nearby mountain communities such as Creede, South Fork, and Rye.

Travel across mountain passes like Cumbres Pass and Poncha Pass could become treacherous or impossible due to heavy snow. The storm is expected to peak Wednesday into Thursday, causing significant disruptions.
