Denver, CO – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Colorado’s high country, with up to 10 inches of snow expected between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The advisory, which lasts from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, covers areas above 9,000 feet, including Rabbit Ears Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park, Medicine Bow Range, and Summit County’s mountains. Strong winds up to 50 mph will accompany the snowfall, creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the NWS, snow accumulations will range from 4 to 10 inches, with higher totals likely at elevations above 10,000 feet. The storm is expected to impact both the morning and evening commutes on Tuesday, with snow-packed and icy roads making travel treacherous.

Drivers are urged to slow down and exercise caution while traveling through affected areas. The Colorado Department of Transportation recommends checking road conditions at www.cotrip.org or dialing 511 for real-time updates.

Residents and travelers should prepare for winter driving conditions and potential delays. The combination of heavy snow and strong winds may reduce visibility, making mountain travel particularly dangerous.
