Grand Junction, Colo. – Isolated snow showers are drifting into Colorado’s northern mountains Sunday, bringing slick spots to higher elevations while the rest of the state starts to warm.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, a weak disturbance will bring cloud cover across the region today. Subfreezing morning temperatures are expected to rise to near-normal or slightly below average by Sunday afternoon. Northern mountain areas, including Steamboat Springs and Vail, may see light snow, but no significant accumulation is expected.

Southern and western Colorado, including Grand Junction, Durango, and Montrose, will experience partly cloudy skies with highs in the 50s and low 60s. Drivers should remain alert for brief reduced visibility in the high country, especially along U.S. 40 and I-70 over the passes.

Warmer air is expected to move in steadily through the week. By mid to late week, temperatures could climb 5 to 10 degrees above normal across much of the Western Slope. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the dry stretch to prep gardens and check snowmelt runoff conditions in flood-prone areas.

Temperatures will trend warmer each day, with updated advisories possible by Wednesday as the spring pattern shifts.
