Pueblo, Colorado – West winds will kick up again across southern Colorado on Thursday, though not as fiercely as Wednesday’s gusts. Areas from Pueblo to La Junta may see breezes reaching 25 mph by afternoon, with temperatures holding steady in the mid-60s to lower 70s.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, the strongest wind gusts will impact the plains during peak afternoon hours, while the central mountains could see a few isolated showers or thunderstorms. Rainfall will be minimal, but drivers on U.S. 50 through Salida and Monarch Pass should watch for slick spots and reduced visibility.

Most of the region will enjoy mild, seasonal temperatures with dry skies, especially east of I-25. Cities like Alamosa, Trinidad, and Walsenburg can expect comfortable highs in the upper 60s with breezy afternoon conditions. Outdoor plans should proceed with caution due to wind, but no widespread weather threats are anticipated.

Looking ahead, Friday will bring more dry and mild conditions across the region, with afternoon highs returning to near mid-May normals. More detailed updates will follow if thunderstorms become more organized in mountain areas.
