Denver, Colorado – Scattered thunderstorms could roll into Denver and much of the Front Range by Thursday afternoon, bringing brief heavy rain and lightning along I-25 before giving way to a sunny, warm Mother’s Day weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected Friday after noon, with highs climbing to 74°F in Denver. Winds will shift northeast at 5–7 mph, pushing isolated storms toward the metro area, especially during the late afternoon commute. While severe weather isn’t expected, lightning and brief downpours may impact drivers and outdoor plans.

Saturday turns the corner into more classic spring warmth. Sunshine dominates, with highs near 78°F and calm winds—ideal conditions for weekend travel, markets, and early Mother’s Day celebrations. By Sunday, temperatures rise to 83°F under clear skies, delivering a near-perfect day for parks, brunch, or any outdoor event.

Looking ahead, the warming trend continues:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny, high near 85°F
  • Tuesday: Slight chance of showers, high 79°F
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, high near 77°F

Preparedness Tip: Drivers should stay weather-aware Friday afternoon. If thunder roars, move indoors and delay any outdoor work or hiking until storms pass.
