Pueblo, Colo. – Patchy fog is creating early driving hazards across Colorado’s eastern plains Tuesday morning, with a broader threat of thunderstorms and showers moving in by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, a stronger pattern of afternoon and evening thunderstorms will develop Wednesday and Thursday, with a 50% chance of rain each day across the plains, mountain valleys, and high country. High temperatures will drop slightly into the upper 60s to mid-70s, with overnight lows in the 40s and upper 30s in mountain areas.

Cities including Pueblo, La Junta, and Lamar could see scattered downpours and isolated lightning storms by Wednesday afternoon. Travel through the I-25 corridor and along Highway 50 may be impacted by wet roads and reduced visibility. In the mountain valleys near Alamosa and the Sangre de Cristos, brief thunderstorms may trigger gusty winds and minor runoff on higher terrain.

Residents should avoid outdoor activities during peak storm hours (typically late afternoon), charge devices ahead of potential outages, and monitor NWS alerts for any flood advisories.

Unsettled weather is expected to persist into Thursday evening, with higher precipitation chances continuing across the southern plains. Further updates will be issued if storm severity increases.
