Denver, CO – Rain, wind, and snow are expected to sweep through Denver beginning Thursday night, creating hazardous travel conditions into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, a cold front will bring rain turning into snow around 3 a.m. Friday, with gusty winds reaching up to 44 mph Thursday night. Snow showers are expected to continue through Saturday afternoon, with chances of precipitation peaking at 100% Friday morning and remaining at 60% through midday Saturday.

The heaviest snow is forecast Friday, with up to 2 inches possible in some areas. Snow accumulations may be lower in urban Denver, but nearby elevations and suburbs could see more. Friday night may bring additional snow, with gusty northeast winds up to 18 mph, potentially reducing visibility.

Residents should prepare for slick roads and slower commutes, especially during Friday morning and evening drive times. The combination of wet snow and strong winds could also lead to minor power disruptions.

Travelers are advised to monitor Colorado Department of Transportation updates and consider adjusting plans during the Friday-to-Saturday window. Conditions will improve by Saturday evening, with clearer skies and highs in the mid-40s returning by Sunday.
