Denver, CO – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a High Wind Warning for the Front Range Mountains and Foothills, effective from 5 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday.
West winds between 35 and 50 mph, with gusts reaching up to 80 mph, are expected to impact areas above 6,000 feet, including Estes Park, Breckenridge, and Evergreen. These conditions could result in blown debris, hazardous travel, and potential power outages.
According to the NWS, the strongest winds will likely occur overnight, posing risks to high-profile vehicles and unsecured outdoor objects. Residents are advised to secure loose items and exercise caution during travel.
