COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A crisp, starry start greets the Front Range early this morning, but a late-fall shift is on the horizon. After a warm, dry stretch through the end of the week, a weekend front will cool things sharply across southern Colorado, with a few rain chances by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, Thursday will stay mostly sunny and warm, topping out near 73°F. Winds remain light but will turn southwest Friday ahead of an approaching trough, helping draw in slightly cooler air. By Saturday, highs will slip into the upper 60s before clouds increase and a weak system brings scattered showers late Sunday into early Monday.

While rainfall totals are expected to stay light—mostly a few hundredths to a tenth of an inch—gusty winds could accompany the change, especially along I-25 from Monument Hill to Pueblo. Motorists should watch for sudden crosswinds and falling temperatures during the transition.

The early-week drop will bring a crisp return to more seasonal November conditions. Highs Monday and Tuesday hover in the mid-50s with chilly nights near freezing—ideal for early winter prep or outdoor cleanup before Thanksgiving week travel begins.

Forecasters don’t see significant snow in the city yet, but higher terrain west of Woodland Park could see a dusting if colder air deepens next week. Models hint at a more active “winter tease” developing over the Rockies near Thanksgiving.

Meanwhile, faint residual effects from the recent G4 solar storm could cause minor GPS or radio disruptions early today, though impacts across Colorado should remain minimal.
