Pueblo, CO – A mix of rain and snow showers is expected to develop across Southern Colorado, including near I-25, tonight into Thursday. Drivers should remain cautious as precipitation may create slick roadways, particularly in the evening and early morning hours.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), light snow could begin as early as late Wednesday night, with a 40% chance of precipitation increasing into Thursday morning. Rain may mix with snow at lower elevations, including areas around Pueblo, while the high country faces accumulating snow. Temperatures on Thursday are expected to reach a high of 51°F, with lows dropping to 26°F.
Thursday night could bring additional rain and snow showers, particularly before 4 a.m. Although new precipitation totals are forecasted to remain below one-tenth of an inch, untreated roads and bridges may still become icy. Travelers should allow extra time for commutes and check weather updates before heading out.
The forecast for the rest of the week shows a warming trend, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-50s by Friday. Christmas travelers can expect dry weather by Saturday, but westward routes into mountainous areas may remain treacherous due to ongoing snow.
Residents should monitor updates from the NWS and avoid unnecessary travel during peak precipitation times.
