Denver, CO – A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of Colorado, including Boulder, Denver, and Fort Collins. The advisory will take effect from 4 p.m. Friday through 5 p.m. Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected, with areas near Boulder’s foothills possibly seeing up to 8 inches. Greeley and surrounding areas may receive 2 to 4 inches of snow. Winds gusting up to 30 mph east of I-25 could cause additional travel disruptions.
Residents should prepare for hazardous road conditions, especially during the Friday evening commute. Authorities warn of slick roads and a potential flash freeze of road surfaces, making travel dangerous.
The advisory covers Fort Collins, Boulder, Denver, Castle Rock, and nearby western suburbs. Officials recommend avoiding non-essential travel and preparing for winter conditions, including emergency supplies and vehicle safety checks.
