Denver, Colorado – Temperatures are set to climb into the low- to mid-70s Friday across Denver and the I-25 corridor, bringing a warm and sunny end to the week for much of the Colorado plains.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, the warming trend will continue with dry conditions expected across eastern Colorado. Meanwhile, foothill towns and mountain valleys will top out in the 50s and 60s. The Western Slope and higher elevations face a 40–60% chance of scattered thunderstorms developing by Friday afternoon.
Mountain towns including Aspen, Breckenridge, and Vail could see brief downpours or gusty winds from isolated storms between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Motorists traveling mountain passes like I-70 should be prepared for changing weather conditions, including slick roads or reduced visibility. Hikers and outdoor workers are advised to monitor skies closely and seek shelter if thunder is heard.
Dry, sunny weather is expected to persist through the weekend for the plains, with the next chance of widespread moisture holding off until early next week. Additional weather statements may be issued if storm coverage increases in the mountains.
