Denver, CO – A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for the Denver metro area, Front Range Foothills, and northeast Colorado plains, with wind chills between -15°F and -28°F through 8 AM MST Thursday.
According to the NWS in Denver, frostbite can develop in under 30 minutes. Those without shelter are at high risk for hypothermia.
Residents should layer clothing, wear face coverings, and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure. Pets should also be kept indoors. Temperatures will rise slightly by late morning but remain below freezing throughout the day.
