Denver, Colorado – Gusty winds, brief downpours, and isolated lightning strikes could disrupt Monday afternoon plans across Denver as storms move back into the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, a 20% chance of thunderstorms will develop after 12 p.m. Monday, June 9. While not widespread, these storms could carry small hail and wind gusts up to 30 mph — especially along the I-25 corridor through Denver and surrounding suburbs. Storms may linger into Monday evening as winds shift from the east.

Though Monday’s high will reach a mild 78°F, residents should stay alert for changing skies during the afternoon commute. Outdoor events and travel could be affected briefly by storm activity. If thunder roars, head indoors — lightning remains a key risk with any isolated cell.

By Tuesday, summer heat returns. Expect sunshine and a high near 85°F, followed by a mostly clear night in the upper 50s. The dry spell continues into Wednesday morning before storm chances creep back in Wednesday afternoon (20%) and again overnight.

Here’s a look ahead:

  • Tuesday (June 10): Sunny, high near 85°F.
  • Wednesday: High of 86°F, slight storm chance in the afternoon and night.
  • Thursday: Scattered storms return (30%), high near 87°F.
  • Friday: Another 20% storm chance, high near 86°F.
  • Saturday: Clearer skies return, sunny and warm with a high near 89°F.

Storm chances remain through Friday, so keep devices charged and check local alerts daily.
