Areas such as Monument, Colorado Springs, and Ordway are specifically mentioned in the alert. Winds will peak midday Saturday, especially in exposed areas along the eastern slopes and valleys.
Residents are urged to avoid open flames, postpone outdoor burning, and secure loose items that could ignite or be carried by high winds. Authorities may issue Red Flag Warnings if conditions worsen.
