Denver, CO – Colorado’s weather pattern is shifting heading into the weekend, with rain expected Friday and an elevated fire danger continuing through early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, scattered showers will likely arrive Friday afternoon across the Denver metro and foothill regions. Winds will increase into the evening, gusting up to 25 mph, especially along the I-25 corridor. While the rain brings short-term relief, warmer and drier air returns Saturday, creating fire-weather concerns through Tuesday.

Residents should remain alert for shifting fire conditions, especially in areas east of the Front Range, including Weld, Arapahoe, and Morgan counties. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Use caution with grills, fire pits, and any heat-producing equipment.

Friday’s forecast calls for a high near 60°F with winds increasing in the afternoon. Showers are likely after 3 p.m., with continued breezy conditions through Friday night. Saturday will bring sunshine and highs around 78°F. Winds could gust up to 28 mph, especially in exposed and higher terrain areas.
