Grand Junction, CO — Light snow showers will move into northwest Colorado late Monday night, bringing minimal accumulation but some slick conditions in higher elevations. Temperatures will remain above average throughout the region this week.

According to the National Weather Service, snow is expected over the Elkheads and Park Range mountains, starting late Monday and continuing into early Tuesday. Accumulations will be light, generally below 6 inches, and impacts should remain minimal. Meanwhile, the rest of western Colorado can expect increasing clouds Monday afternoon before skies clear midweek.

Tuesday’s forecast includes partly sunny skies in Grand Junction with a high near 48°F and calm winds. Monday night’s low will dip to 25°F under mostly cloudy skies, while Tuesday night will see mostly clear conditions with lows around 25°F.

High pressure is forecast to build across the region by Wednesday, bringing quiet, mild weather for the remainder of the week. Daytime highs will climb to the low 50s on Wednesday and Thursday before leveling off slightly by the weekend. Nighttime temperatures will stay chilly, with lows ranging from the mid-20s to upper 20s.

Travelers heading into the NW mountain passes late Monday should remain cautious, as slick spots are possible with the light snowfall. Conditions are expected to improve by Tuesday afternoon.

Residents in the area can look forward to mostly sunny skies by midweek, with calm winds and unseasonably warm temperatures.
