Denver, Colorado – Dangerous fire weather conditions are spreading across northeast and north-central Colorado on Monday, as wind gusts near 50 mph combine with low humidity across the eastern plains. A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 7 p.m., and officials are urging residents to avoid open flames or outdoor burning.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, the warning covers areas including Logan, Phillips, Washington, and Elbert counties. Gusty winds and dry conditions will heighten wildfire risk, particularly this afternoon and early evening.

While Monday poses the highest fire danger, a shift in the pattern brings increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms starting Wednesday. Areas along the I-25 corridor, including Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins, could see rain by midweek, with thunderstorms possible each day through Friday. Some storms may produce gusty winds or brief downpours.

Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items, remain aware of local fire bans, and avoid any spark-generating activities until winds subside. Those in wildfire-prone zones should keep emergency kits ready and monitor local alerts.

More showers and isolated storms are expected into the weekend. The next weather update will highlight expected rainfall totals and any new advisories.
