Denver, Colorado – A mix of dangerous heat, severe thunderstorms, and worsening air quality could make Tuesday afternoon a rough ride across metro Denver and the Front Range.

These storms could produce brief heavy rain, wind gusts over 40 mph, and small hail. The strongest cells may trigger localized flooding in poor drainage zones.

Meanwhile, a Summer Ozone Action Day Alert remains in effect until 4 p.m. Tuesday for Denver, Boulder, Jefferson, Arapahoe, and six other counties. Ground-level ozone may spike to unhealthy levels for sensitive groups, especially near Golden and Lakewood. Residents with asthma or heart/lung conditions should avoid outdoor exertion.
