Pueblo, CO – Southern Colorado drivers are urged to exercise caution as bursts of heavy snow are expected along the I-25 corridor this afternoon. Snowfall accumulations of 3-6 inches are forecast between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., with slick and snow-covered roads likely to develop quickly.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will begin as a mix of rain and snow before transitioning to heavier snow by late afternoon. Hazardous conditions, including reduced visibility and icy patches, are expected during the evening commute. Travelers are advised to allow extra time, increase following distances, and avoid sudden stops or lane changes.

Tonight, snow showers will taper off, with skies clearing after midnight. Temperatures will plummet, reaching a low of 13°F, potentially creating black ice on untreated surfaces. Winds from the northwest will add to the chill but remain light.

Sunday will bring welcome relief, with sunny skies and a high near 37°F. However, cold temperatures will persist through the evening, dropping to 11°F overnight. Monday will stay sunny with a high of 35°F, offering calmer weather but still brisk conditions.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week, Tuesday will feature sunny skies and a high of 38°F, with lows dipping to 13°F. By Wednesday, temperatures will climb slightly, reaching a high near 44°F under continued sunny skies.

Motorists and residents should prepare for rapidly changing weather today and take steps to stay safe on the roads. Updates on the storm and additional forecasts will be available through the National Weather Service and local authorities.
