Denver, CO – An Action Day for Particulates has been declared for the Denver-Boulder metropolitan area, including Douglas, Jefferson, Arapahoe, Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer, and Weld counties, effective from 4 p.m. Monday until 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Heavy smoke moving into the northern Front Range is causing elevated particle pollution levels, prompting officials to urge residents to limit driving gas- or diesel-powered vehicles to reduce air pollution. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) recommends staying indoors if smoke becomes thick, especially for those with heart or respiratory issues.
According to CDPHE, these conditions may continue through Tuesday afternoon.
