Pueblo, CO – A widespread air quality health advisory has been issued across Colorado due to strong winds creating hazardous blowing dust conditions. The advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, impacting several counties across the state.

According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, affected areas include Pueblo, Alamosa, Trinidad, Limon, Lamar, and more. Visibility may be reduced to less than 10 miles in some regions as dust moves through the area.

Health officials recommend that individuals with respiratory issues, older adults, and children limit outdoor exposure and avoid strenuous activities. Those in the affected areas should stay indoors when possible, especially if they experience difficulty breathing.

Wind speeds are expected to decrease by early Tuesday evening, allowing dust levels to settle. However, residents should remain cautious and monitor updates from local authorities for changing conditions.
