Pittsburgh, PA – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southwestern Pennsylvania, with snowfall beginning tonight and continuing into Saturday. Residents should prepare for 2 to 3 inches of snow and icy roads, especially in higher elevations and along major roadways like I-70 and I-79.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Sunday. Snowfall will likely intensify overnight, accumulating quickly due to the cold conditions. Drivers are urged to exercise caution as roadways could become hazardous, particularly during the Friday evening commute.

Saturday will see lingering snow showers, with light winds and temperatures reaching a high of 31°F. Conditions will remain cold through the weekend, with lows dipping to 17°F Saturday night and 12°F on Sunday night. While snowfall tapers off late Saturday, roads may remain slick.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday bring a slight warming trend, with highs in the mid-30s. However, another round of snow is possible by midweek. The NWS recommends checking local forecasts regularly for updates and reporting snow accumulation via social media or by calling their office directly.

Residents should also clear sidewalks promptly and stock up on essential supplies to avoid unnecessary travel during the advisory period.
