Memphis, TN – A cold weather advisory remains in effect for portions of the Mid-South, including Memphis, Jonesboro, and Oxford, until 9 a.m. Wednesday as wind chills dip as low as -4°F.

The National Weather Service reports dangerously low wind chills between -4°F and 10°F across areas of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee. Cities such as Tupelo, Jackson, and Dyersburg are also affected.

Prolonged exposure to these conditions can lead to hypothermia or frostbite, especially on exposed skin. Residents are urged to dress in warm, layered clothing and limit time outdoors.

Additional regions impacted include Dunklin and Pemiscot Counties in Missouri, as well as Lauderdale and Obion Counties in Tennessee. For those traveling, officials recommend carrying emergency supplies such as blankets and water in case of delays.

Temperatures are expected to rise later in the morning, providing relief from the frigid conditions. However, cold-related risks remain significant until then. Stay informed through updates from the National Weather Service and local authorities for further guidance.
