La Crosse, WI – A cold front sweeping across Wisconsin will bring light snow and sharply falling temperatures this week, impacting travel and outdoor plans. Light snow is expected tonight along and north of I-94, with accumulations under half an inch.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will taper off by Monday morning. Tonight’s low will dip to 16°F, with little travel disruption expected. By midweek, a more significant cold front will bring gusty winds and plummeting temperatures, with highs falling to the teens and single-digit lows.

Monday offers a brief reprieve, with highs climbing to 27°F under mostly sunny skies. However, the cold front’s arrival late Tuesday into Wednesday introduces the next snow chance, especially in areas north of Interstate 94. Winds gusting up to 20 mph could create hazardous wind chills.

Residents should prepare for below-average temperatures that will linger through Friday. Wednesday’s high will peak at 37°F before a steep drop to 9°F overnight. Highs Thursday and Friday will struggle to reach the low 20s.

Motorists are advised to monitor road conditions as snow and gusty winds could create slick spots, particularly during the midweek commute. Stay updated with local forecasts for potential advisories or warnings.

This week’s frigid pattern underscores the importance of dressing in layers, limiting time outdoors, and ensuring homes and vehicles are winter-ready.
