Nashville, TN – Drivers across Middle Tennessee are urged to use caution as dense fog blankets the region early Wednesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a dense fog advisory until 6 a.m., warning of visibility below 1/4 mile in several counties, including Davidson, Williamson, and Rutherford. Interstate routes such as I-40 and I-24 are expected to remain particularly hazardous during this time.
According to the NWS, the fog will gradually clear after sunrise as a cold front moves eastward. Motorists should use low-beam headlights, reduce speed, and allow extra travel time on their morning commutes.
Thursday’s Forecast
After the fog lifts, Nashville can expect sunny skies with a high near 59°F on Thursday. Winds will shift to the northwest, reaching 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, bringing cooler and drier air to the region.
Extended Five-Day Outlook
• Friday: Partly sunny with a high near 49°F. Winds remain northwesterly at 10-15 mph.
• Saturday: A frosty morning will give way to clear skies and a high near 56°F.
• Sunday: Mostly sunny with highs reaching 63°F.
• Monday: A 30% chance of showers in the evening, high around 68°F.
Stay alert for changing road conditions, especially during early morning hours. Keep updated through local forecasts as fog advisories may extend eastward overnight.
