Corpus Christi, TX – The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi warns that scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across South Texas and the Coastal Bend between 5 p.m. and midnight tonight (Saturday, Nov. 1).
Forecasters say some storms could become strong to severe, producing large hail up to 1 inch or more in diameter and damaging wind gusts. The Storm Prediction Center has placed coastal areas under a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather and the Coastal Plains under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5).
The greatest threat window will occur from early evening through midnight, mainly along and east of Highway 77, including Corpus Christi, Victoria, Port Lavaca, Rockport, and Kingsville.
While widespread severe weather is not expected, isolated intense storms could impact travel and outdoor activities. Residents are urged to monitor local alerts, avoid outdoor plans during storms, and secure loose outdoor items ahead of gusty winds.
Rain and thunderstorms will gradually taper off overnight, with drier and cooler conditions expected by Sunday morning.
