St. Louis, MO – Missouri residents can expect warmer-than-average temperatures heading into Christmas, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Forecasts show an 80-90% chance of above-normal temperatures between December 24 and December 30.

According to the NWS St. Louis office, late December highs typically range between 36°F and 42°F. While the darker red shading on the forecast map indicates high probabilities of warmth, it does not necessarily mean record-breaking temperatures.

The 8-14 Day Temperature Outlook released Monday shows much of the Midwest, including Missouri, under these elevated temperature probabilities. Residents hoping for a white Christmas may be out of luck, as conditions appear favorable for mild, snow-free weather.

NWS meteorologists advise keeping an eye on updates, as weather patterns can shift leading up to the holiday. With travel and outdoor plans expected to increase, the milder weather could bring more favorable conditions for holiday gatherings.
