Chicago, Illinois – A warm and mostly dry stretch will dominate Chicago’s weather through the weekend, with daytime highs climbing into the upper 80s and even reaching 90 in some spots by Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, Wednesday will stay seasonable with highs between 76 and 82 degrees under partly cloudy skies. A noticeable warming trend begins Thursday and Friday, with inland areas reaching the mid to upper 80s. Neighborhoods near Lake Michigan will stay slightly cooler due to lake breezes.

By Saturday, heat builds across much of northern Illinois with widespread highs between 87 and 91 degrees. Only a slim 20% chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm is expected Saturday evening, but most of the region will remain dry. Sunday brings similar conditions with highs in the mid to upper 80s, again a touch cooler near the lake.

The dry stretch means outdoor plans should remain unaffected, but residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous activity during peak afternoon heat, especially this weekend.

More seasonal conditions may arrive next week, but for now, the National Weather Service says warm and dry weather will dominate through Sunday.
