West Virginia wakes up to damp pavement and thick clouds, with showers poised to pop quickly as the day warms. By early afternoon, brief downpours and isolated thunderstorms could reduce visibility and slick up roads like I-64 and US-119, especially during peak travel hours.

According to the National Weather Service, Charleston faces a 20% storm chance early, rising into more organized activity mid-afternoon with southwest winds gusting near 25 mph. Temperatures climb to around 82°F, adding fuel for scattered thunderstorm development across Kanawha County and surrounding lowlands.

Storm coverage increases sharply heading into Wednesday. Expect rounds of showers and thunderstorms after midday, with an 80% chance of rain and localized downpours. Drivers should plan extra time, as brief heavy rain could pond on roadways and reduce visibility under one mile at times. Thursday night stays unsettled, with additional showers and a mild low near 60°F.

Thursday brings a temporary break with warmer air pushing highs to 87°F. Still, a 30% chance of late-day showers lingers. By Friday, clouds thicken again and scattered storms return, especially after lunchtime, continuing into the evening with another round of rain chances.

Saturday keeps the spring pattern active, with a 50% chance of afternoon rain and highs near 85°F. Wet pavement and quick temperature swings could lead to patchy slick spots early each morning.

Five Day Forecast for Charleston, West Virginia:
Today: High 82°F, slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms (20%)
Wednesday: High 83°F, showers and storms likely (80%)
Thursday: High 87°F, partly sunny with isolated showers (30%)
Friday: High 83°F, scattered showers and thunderstorms (50%)
Saturday: High 85°F, chance of afternoon rain (50%)
