San Antonio, Texas – Isolated severe storms are expected to impact portions of central and south-central Texas from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday, bringing threats of large hail, damaging winds, and localized heavy rain.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, a Level 2 out of 5 risk has been issued for areas including Georgetown, La Grange, and parts of the northern I-35 corridor. A wider zone — including San Antonio, Boerne, Kerrville, and the Hill Country — sits under a Level 1 risk.

Storms are already forming over north-central and southeast Texas and are forecast to drift south and southwest into the region this evening. Some could produce hail over 1 inch in diameter and wind gusts up to 60 mph. Outdoor plans should be reconsidered, especially in rural areas where trees and power lines may be vulnerable.

Drivers along I-35, U.S. 87, and U.S. 281 should use caution, especially in areas prone to brief flooding or poor visibility from heavy downpours. Keep phones charged and enable emergency alerts.

Warnings could be issued rapidly as storms develop. Residents are urged to monitor official alerts through at least 10 p.m.
