Austin, TX – Central Texas residents should brace for a rainy and cool weekend as showers are set to move into the area Saturday. The day will see a 70% chance of rain, with high temperatures only reaching the low 50s. Light winds from the northeast will accompany the wet conditions, creating a brisk and damp day.

According to the National Weather Service, showers could linger into early Sunday before tapering off in the afternoon. Sunday’s high will climb slightly to 65 degrees, but cloudy skies are expected to persist. Drivers on major roadways, including I-35, should plan for reduced visibility and wet road conditions throughout the weekend.

By Monday, the weather will take a sharp turn, with sunny skies and much warmer temperatures returning. Highs on Monday will soar to 81 degrees, providing a welcome break from the rain. Cooler weather will make a comeback midweek, with Tuesday’s highs in the upper 60s and sunny skies remaining through Wednesday.

Residents are advised to stay weather-aware this weekend and keep umbrellas handy while enjoying the brief warm spell Monday before cooler days return.
